Race: Untamed        Class: Barbarian

Born in the City of the Lost, Barbarians are the primary Tank class of Perfect World. They wear Heavy armors and giant Axes and Hammers.

What is a Tank?
A Tank is a character whose primary role is to absorb damage and prevent others from being attacked. Tanks are the "meatshields" so, to speak, putting themselves between the enemies and the more vulnerable party members.

With the release of the expansion "Fountain of Fate" and the increased numbers of "glyphable" skills, there is just one-way to build a competitive Barbarian.

The main change is the fact that Vitality points give the same physical attack as Strength points. So every build is now focused to have the max Vitality possible, tank or dps doesn't matter.

In order to have an high amount of Vitality points, we just set the required Strength and Dexterity to wear an endgame armor and wield a weapon.

Points at level 100.

Vitality: All Strength: 300

Magic: 0 Dexterity: 60

Why you want to be a Demon barbarian?

Demon barbarians can feel less competitive, but still provide a big amount of accuracy (Blood Bath) and critical chance (Axe and Hammer Mastery / Strength of Titans).
Requires more skill to be played, but can perfectly optizime a DPS build with attack gems.

It also can land some powerfull combo with Sunder (100% critical chance of the next few seconds), landing strong AoE damage in combo with Armageddon or Prehistoric Frenzy.

Beast King's Inspiration is also well considered when playing in a team for the high amount of CHI that it provides.

Why you want to be a Sage barbarian?

Sage barbarians are well balanced, they have high physical attack spike and also a great survivability.

Going in Untamed form gives more HP and physical defense, other than genereting CHI.
Shapeshift Intensity (passive) grants 120% more physical defense and Celestial Eruption help to reduce all the incoming damage.

Strenght of Titans give an high spike of physical attack.

Survive is the first priority for a tank class.

Note: the following rotation is the optimal way to increse the survivability time, but still depend on what happening on the battlefield and the class/power you are trying to tank.

Order

Skill

How to use

Survive Time

1

Invoke

Start with Invoke. Use Absolute Domain or Faith if you are stunned.

20 sec.

2

Potion

Use the immune to damage potion when Invoke is over. Use Absolute Domain or Faith if you are stunned.

10 sec.

3

Cornered Beast

Use Cornered Beast 1-2 seconds before the immune potion is over.

50/60 sec.

4

Various Skills

During Cornered Beast, try to sruvive saving Invoke and Genie. Use Solid Shield, Raging Slap, Bestial Rage for spam Celestial Eruption, Frighten, Untamed Wrath to stop DPS. Move, so melee class have difficult to hit you.
5 Blood Rush + Invoke Before Cornered Beast is over, use Blood Rush and Invoke. This way you can get the max defensive stack from Blood Rush. 20 sec.
6 Potion Use the immune to damage potion when Invoke is over. Use Absolute Domain or Faith if you are stunned. 10 sec.

You can use Violent Triumph or Purify Spell to delay the use of a skill and gain more time.

Take the aggro means to force enemies to attack you. This is the main job of a tank, feel simple, but need to follow two rules to be effective:
1. Force enemies to attack you means that you'll get damage. Priority when you take aggro is to have a way to not die.
2. Pick the right target for single aggro skills. Prefer the strong DPS or a CC class (Barbarian, Blademaster, Duskblade) that is chasing your healer.

To aggro a group we can use Roar, but to respect rule 1 we need to do it in a safe way:

Target > Invoke > Violent Triumph > Alacrity of the Beast > Roar > Frighten (spam) > Run away at last 5 seconds of Invoke > Faith if needed to run away

To aggro a single target we can use Raging Slap and Flesh Ream.

Stunlock means to disable an enemies for the longer time possible. We can rely on paralyze with Mighty Swing and Devour, stun with Untamed Wrath and immobilize with Alacrity of the Beast and Ancestral Rage.

Simple stunlock chain

Alacrity of the Beast > Devour > Mighty Swing > Devour > Untamed Wrath > Devour > Mighty Swing > Devour > Alacrity of the Beast

Stunlock is important because prevent to your target to do his job (a Cleric to heal or a DPS to do damage for example) and also contribute to kill it, if your DPS are hitting the same target.
This is not a passive way to fight, but during stunlock you can add debuff with Devour and Stomp of the Beast King, purge buff with Clean Sweep and Raging Slap and also reduce the target HP.

Complete stunlock chain

Alacrity of the Beast > Devour > Stomp of the Beast King > Ocean > Mighty Swing > Stomp of the Beast King > Ocean > Devour > Stomp of the Beast King > Untamed Wrath > Stomp of the Beast King > Clean Sweep > Devour > Stomp of the Beast King > Ocean > Mighty Swing > Stomp of the Beast King > Ocean > Devour > Raging Slap > Ancestral Rage

Note: for an optimal stunlock we need to use a blue glyph on Devour (it add paralyze) and red glyph on Mighty Swing, otherwise it share the cooldown with Devour.
